Family Registry

What is the Family Registry?

The Family Registry is for those families who are searching for an Independent Respite Provider for a family member.  Independent Respite Providers available to work locally are held in a registry by the Respite Coordinator and registered families are able to request the complete profile and contact information for the Independent Respite Providers that they are interested in.

Similarly, the Family Registry process enables families to indicate the specific needs of their family member that they are seeking respite for, and have the Respite Coordinator match them with an appropriate Independent Respite Provider.

Independent Respite Providers

Community Living Elgin provides a matching service to Independent Respite Providers who are currently available to provide respite services to families in the Elgin and St. Thomas area.  Independent Respite Providers are not employees of Community Living Elgin but may be contracted directly by families.

Independent Respite Providers are self-employed respite providers that sign up to be part of the Independent Respite Provider Registry. The Respite Coordinator will verify personal information and meet with the IRP prior to suggesting a connection with families. IRP’s will arrange hours, wages and schedule with the care giver and provide them with regular invoices. Families will be responsible for payment to the to Independent Respite Provider.
